Victoria sprinted down the long brick driveway toward her car.
Her luxury sports car was parked right near the gate.
She hit the unlock button on her key fob rapidly.
The car lights flashed bright yellow in response.
Before she reached the driver side door, a truck pulled up.
A dark sedan blocked the long driveway exit completely.
Two men in sharp gray suits stepped out quickly.
They were financial fraud investigators from the state office.
Investigator: Victoria Vance, please step away from the vehicle.
Victoria: Get out of my way right now!
Investigator: We have a court order freezing your assets.
Victoria backed away as David walked down the driveway.
He was holding a thick folder of signed documents.
David: It is over now, Victoria, stop running.
Victoria: You cannot do this to me, David!
David: I locked every joint account an hour ago.
Victoria felt her entire world crumbling down around her.
The luxury life she had stolen was vanishing fast.
Victoria: I deserve half of everything in this estate!
David: You deserve nothing after what you did today.
Evelyn walked slowly out onto the wide front porch.
Her hand was wrapped neatly in fresh white bandages.
She stood tall alongside Dr. Miller supporting her side.
Evelyn: You tried to drown me for a piece of paper.
Victoria: You should have stayed out of my way!
Evelyn: This house was built on honest hard work.
The police cars pulled into the long driveway then.
Red and blue lights flashed brightly against the white pillars.
Two police officers stepped out with hand cuffs ready.
Victoria took another step backward toward the pristine lawn.
She realized there was nowhere left to run now.
Officer: Put your hands behind your back, ma'am.
Victoria: He jumped into the pool himself, officer!
Officer: We have security footage from the terrace cameras.
Victoria turned her head to look up at the roofline.
A small high-definition security camera was pointed down.
It had recorded the entire terrible interaction clearly.
It captured the push, the struggle, and the step.
Victoria's face dropped into absolute silence and utter shock.
She had forgotten about the newly installed security system.
David had installed those cameras just last month.
The officers placed the metal handcuffs on her wrists.
She was led away toward the waiting police vehicle.
