Desperation swept over Chad's face as the consequences of his actions hit him all at once. The arrogant posture he had maintained just moments ago completely collapsed. He dropped his wine glass onto the table and fell heavily to his knees right on the hardwood floor, landing directly among the shattered porcelain fragments he had just broken. His fine tuxedo trousers were instantly covered in white dust and sharp ceramic chips, but he did not care about his clothes anymore. He reached out with trembling hands, trying to grab the hem of Sarah's dark blazer as he begged for mercy.
Chad: Please no! I am so sorry, Sarah! Please do not do this to me! I love you!
Sarah: Do not lie to me or to yourself. You never loved me, Chad. You loved my family money.
Chad: I will pay for the plate! I will buy you a new one! Just call your father back and unfreeze the trust fund!
Sarah: Some things can never be replaced or bought back, especially trust and respect.
Chad began sobbing openly on the floor, his tears dripping onto the dark wood panels beneath him. The distinguished guests at the dinner table watched the pathetic display with cold indifference. The family lawyer stepped forward from the crowd, holding a leather briefcase, and placed a hand on Sarah's shoulder to offer his full support. The lawyer made a quick gesture to the security team standing near the entrance of the house, signaling them to move into position to handle the escalating situation before it got out of hand.
Chad: My lenders are going to take everything I own! I will be completely ruined by tomorrow if you do not help me!
Sarah: You should have thought about your debts before you threw a temper tantrum in my dining room.
Chad: Please, Sarah! I am begging you on my knees! Give me one more chance to make this right!
Sarah stepped back, smoothly pulling her clothing away from his desperate reach. She looked down at the man who had promised to love and protect her, feeling nothing but pity and deep disgust for his utter lack of character. He had shown his true colors before any marriage certificates were signed, saving her from a lifetime of misery and betrayal.
