The Breaking Point

When a Mother Finds Her Daughter in the Dallas Mansion

Sarah backed toward the grand exit while keeping Claire tucked close.

David reached out a hand to stop his wife from leaving.

David: Sarah, please wait, let us talk about this upstairs.

Sarah: Do not lay a finger on me or my child!

David: She is my daughter too, Sarah!

Sarah: You failed to protect her in your own home!

Eleanor folded her arms across her burgundy dress with disdain.

Eleanor: Let her go, David, she is overreacting as usual.

Eleanor: She will crawl back once she remembers where money comes from.

Sarah stopped near the open doorway and turned around slowly.

Her voice was steady and filled with absolute hatred for them.

Sarah: I have my own income and my own lawyer.

Sarah: You will never see Claire ever again after today.

David ran a hand through his hair in a sudden panic.

David: Sarah, you cannot just take her away like this!

Sarah: Watch me drive away and call the police, David.

Claire clung tightly to Sarah's blue dress with small fingers.

Claire: Mommy, I want to go home now.

Sarah: We are going home right now, my sweet angel.

Sarah turned around and walked out the open front doors.

The bright Texas sunlight hit them as they reached the car.

David followed her down the stone steps with rapid strides.

David: Sarah, please, we can fix this family trust fund!

Sarah: Keep your blood money and stay away from us!

She opened the back door and buckled Claire into her seat.

She locked the doors as soon as she got inside.

David pounded on the window as Sarah started the engine.

She stepped on the gas and drove through the gates.

She checked her rearview mirror as the mansion grew smaller.

She knew that a bitter legal battle was about to begin.
