Mark gripped his son tightly with his left arm and extended his right hand out demands.
Mark: Hand me your phone right now!
Evelyn: That is my private personal property sir!
Mark: You are in my house acting suspicious around my baby boy!
Evelyn tried to slip the device inside her coat pocket quickly.
Mark reached out and snatched the smartphone straight out of her hand.
The screen was still lit up with a fresh text message notification sitting at the top.
It showed a contact saved only as a series of random numbers.
The text read clearly that she had secured the child alone in the quiet house.
It added that the second stage of the plan would start later that night.
Mark felt a cold chill run down his spine as he read the words twice.
Mark: What plan are you talking about in this text message?
Evelyn: It is just a misunderstanding with my sister!
Mark: Who sent this text message to your phone today?
Evelyn: I do not know who that number belongs to at all!
Mark: You just replied to them two minutes ago!
Mark held the phone up so she could see her own sent messages listed on screen.
She had confirmed that the father had left for the airport as planned earlier.
Evelyn turned pale and clutched her collar with shaking hands.
Evelyn: Please do not involve the authorities in this situation!
Mark: You were planning to take my son away from this house!
Evelyn: I was offered money because I was desperate for cash!
Mark: Who paid you to do this to my family?
Evelyn: I never met the person in real life!
Mark shook his head in absolute disbelief as he stepped closer to her.
Mark: You brought a mask into my home to hide your face on camera!
Evelyn: They told me no one would get hurt if I followed instructions!
Mark: You put my child in danger for a paycheck!
