Marcus: Who threw a child? Elena, catch your breath and tell me exactly what you just said!
Elena: Mrs. Keller! She walked right out to the edge of the second-story railing and dropped the baby straight down onto the marble floor!
Marcus: Clara? Are you out of your absolute mind? What kind of monster tries to kill an innocent child?
Elena: I barely caught the blanket before it hit the ground, Mr. Keller. Look at the baby, she won't stop crying from the shock!
Marcus: Give her to me. Let me hold my child. Elena, call an ambulance and secure the front gates immediately.
Elena: Right away, sir. I'm locking every exit so nobody can leave this property until the police arrive.
Marcus took the trembling infant into his arms, his face turning an ash-gray color as he looked down at the weeping baby wrapped in the white blanket.
Marcus: Daddy's here. I've got you, my sweet angel. Nothing like this will ever happen to you again.
Elena: Check her little arms and legs, sir. She fell at such a terrifying speed before I managed to slide underneath.
Marcus: She's breathing, but she's completely terrified. How could anyone do this? How could a mother drop her own flesh and blood?
Elena: She didn't even hesitate, Mr. Keller. That's the part that terrifies me the most. She looked completely cold while she did it.
Marcus: Greed. That's what this is. She wanted the estate trust transferred entirely into her name before the divorce proceedings finalized.
Elena: But attempting to take a life? That goes far beyond a normal greed or a messy divorce dispute!
Marcus: That goes straight into federal prison territory. She crossed a line that can never, ever be uncrossed.
Elena: I hear footsteps coming down the main staircase now. She's heading right toward us!
Marcus: Good. Let her face me before the authorities get here. Let's see what excuse she cooks up for attempted murder.
Elena: Be careful, sir. She looks completely unhinged this morning, clutching that red silk robe around her like armor.
Marcus: She needs more than armor today. She needs a miracle to survive what I am about to do to her.
