When A Desperate Husband Tried To End Her Life

The crystal chandelier of the luxury mansion cast a blinding glare over the pristine white marble foyer below. High above on the sweeping balcony, the air felt thin and entirely merciless. Elena gripped the ornate wrought-iron railing, her chest heaving as she tried to catch her breath against the cold wind whipping through the open French doors. Her red dress rustled loudly against the stone, a striking flash of color against the sterile wealth of their estate. Behind her stood Julian, the man she had trusted with her entire life, his face twisted into an expression of sheer, unadulterated hatred.

Julian: Get out of my life!

Her breath hitched sharply in her throat before a sudden, violent shove sent her stumbling backward off balance. The ground vanished from beneath her feet, and the vast open space of the multi-story foyer rushed up to meet her in a terrifying blur.

Elena: No! Ahhh!

The wind roared violently past her ears as gravity took over, pulling her downward toward the hard marble floor far below. Downstairs, the heavy footsteps of her father echoed frantically against the stone as he raced across the grand hall under the proud shadow of the American flag. His heart hammered wildly against his ribs as he tracked the horrific descent of his only daughter through the open air. With every ounce of his remaining strength, he lunged forward, stretching his arms out wide across the polished floor in a desperate attempt to cheat fate.

Arthur: I've got you! Hold on!

A heavy, bone-jarring impact echoed through the cavernous foyer as Arthur caught her in mid-air, sliding across the slick marble before crashing to a halt. He pulled her tightly against his chest in a protective bridal carry, sinking down onto his knees as he shielded her from any further harm. A long, shuddering exhale escaped his lips while the heavy, emotional swell of orchestral music filled the silent mansion around them. Up on the balcony, Julian froze in utter disbelief, his fingers gripping the iron railing as he stared down at the impossible rescue with trembling hands and mounting terror.

Julian: That's... that's impossible. How did he reach her in time?

Tears streamed uncontrollably down Elena's face as she buried her head into her father’s shoulder, her hands trembling violently as they pressed against her stomach. The sheer panic of the fall gave way to a deeper, agonizing terror for the fragile life growing inside her. Arthur looked down at her with a heartbroken expression, his jaw clenching as a dark, protective fury ignited deep within his chest. He reached into his tailored suit jacket with a steady, determined hand, pulling out his smartphone to seal his son-in-law's fate once and for all.

Arthur: Just hold on, sweetheart. You're safe now, and I am going to make sure he pays for every single second of this terror.
