Marcus entered the study room and knelt down beside his young daughter on the couch.
He handed her the silver locket, placing it safely into her small trembling palm.
Lily: Thank you, Daddy, she took it right out of my bedroom drawer.
Marcus: She will never take anything from you ever again, my sweet girl.
Marcus wrapped his arms around Lily and held her close until her breathing turned calm.
While Victoria was packing her bags under guard, Marcus called his corporate private investigator.
He wanted a full background check on every action Victoria had taken recently.
Within thirty minutes, the investigator sent over shocking financial documents straight to Marcus's phone.
Victoria had been secretly contacting a corrupt divorce lawyer behind Marcus's back for weeks.
She was attempting to forge legal documents regarding Lily's inheritance trust fund account balance.
Marcus: She was planning to steal my daughter's future financial security all along.
Investigator: Yes sir, she even tried to open a fraudulent bank account in Europe.
Marcus felt a chill run down his spine as he reviewed the evidence on screen.
He was deeply thankful that he had intervened before Victoria could execute her dark plan.
Downstairs in the main entrance, Victoria walked out carrying two large leather suitcases.
She looked around the grand marble foyer one last time with bitter anger and regret.
Victoria: You will regret treating me like this, Marcus Vance!
Marcus: The only regret I have is letting you into our peaceful home.
Marcus walked down the stairs calmly, holding the private investigator's printed legal report.
He handed the file directly to the local police officers who had just arrived outside.
Police Officer: Mr. Vance, we have enough evidence here to arrest her for fraud instantly.
Marcus: Press full legal charges against her for attempted theft and child endangerment.
Victoria gasped in horror as the police officers stepped forward with shining metal handcuffs.
She realized that her greed had brought her straight to total public ruin and shame.
