David leaned down through the narrow opening in the floor and extended his strong right arm.
Little Ethan reached up with shaking hands and grabbed onto his father's warm fingers.
David lifted the boy up out of the dark pit and held him tight in a strong hug.
Ethan sobbed softly into his father's shirt while clutching his arms around David's neck.
Ethan: She locked the trapdoor when you left for your trip, Daddy.
David: I am so sorry, Ethan, nobody will ever hurt you again.
Evelyn sat up on the couch and tried to smooth down her wrinkled white jacket.
She wiped a tear from her cheek and tried to put on a sweet voice.
Evelyn: David, please listen to reason for just one moment.
David: Do not speak another lie to me or my children!
Evelyn: I was only trying to teach him a quick discipline lesson!
David: You locked him in a dark hole for two full days!
David set both children down safely on the far side of the soft leather sofa.
He walked over to his briefcase and pulled out his official personal cell phone.
Evelyn gasped and rushed forward to grab his arm before he could dial.
Evelyn: If you call the police, it will destroy our whole family reputation!
David: You destroyed this family the moment you harmed my children!
David pushed her hand off his arm with a firm movement and stepped away.
He dialed the emergency police number while keeping his watchful eyes fixed on her face.
David: I need emergency police assistance at my house right now!
