The quiet atmosphere returned to the mansion as the police cars disappeared down the road.
Mark walked into the bright kitchen where Sarah was preparing a warm meal for Lily.
The loyal maid smiled softly as Mark placed the sleeping toddler gently into her highchair.
He sat down at the kitchen table, feeling a massive weight lifted from his shoulders.
Attorney David walked in behind them, filing the remaining legal papers into his briefcase.
Attorney David: The restraining order is officially filed and active as of right now, Mark.
Mark Miller: She will never be allowed near my daughter again?
Attorney David: Not without facing immediate state prison time, sir.
Mark Miller: That is the best news I have heard all year, David.
Attorney David: The trust fund is also completely secure under your sole legal guardianship.
Mark shook the attorney's hand with deep respect and relief in his heart.
David bade them farewell and walked out into the calm afternoon breeze outside.
Mark turned his attention back to his precious daughter who was stirring awake peacefully.
Lily opened her bright eyes and smiled up at her father with complete trust.
Toddler Lily: Daddy love Lily?
Mark Miller: Daddy loves you more than life itself, my sweet girl.
Maid Sarah: You are a good father, Mr. Miller.
Mark Miller: I will always keep her safe from harm, Sarah.
Mark reached into his pocket and pulled out a generous bonus check for the brave maid.
He handed it to Sarah, thanking her for her brave loyalty during the dark crisis.
Sarah wiped a happy tear from her eye and accepted the life-changing reward gratefully.
Mark lifted Lily out of her highchair and carried her out onto the sunny back patio.
The warm Texas breeze rustled through the green trees surrounding their spacious private yard.
The dark shadows of deceit and family cruelty were finally gone from their home forever.
Mark sat on the patio swing, holding his daughter as she giggled in the bright sunlight.
He knew that tough times might lie ahead in court, but their true bond was unbreakable.
They had fought through the storm and emerged stronger together in the end.
