Victoria looked down at her emerald dress and saw the red dot.
Her glass of red wine slipped right out of her nervous hand.
The glass shattered instantly on the floor, splashing wine everywhere.
Victoria: Julian... what is this on my chest?
Julian: It is just a toy laser from someone in the crowd.
Suddenly, the massive glass windows of the ballroom began to rattle violently.
A deep sound shook the heavy marble floor under everyone's feet.
The loud chop of heavy helicopter blades filled the night air outside.
Bright white searchlights flashed through the tall glass windows from above.
The powerful lights blinded the guests, causing many to cover their eyes.
Julian: What is going on outside right now?
The heavy chandelier started swinging slowly back and forth above them.
Guests began to panic, looking around the room in absolute confusion.
Victoria: Julian, I am scared! Make it stop!
Chloe stood right in the center of the room without moving a muscle.
She wiped a drop of juice off her cheek with a clean tissue.
Chloe: I told you that my father runs things you cannot see.
Julian's face went pale as he took three fast steps backward.
He tripped over the broken glass on the floor and nearly fell over.
Julian: Who the hell are you??
Chloe: I am the daughter of General Arthur Vance's chief commander.
Julian's eyes went wide as he realized the name she just spoke.
General Vance was the head of the national defense board and city council.
His family's entire real estate empire relied on government permits from him.
Julian: No... that is impossible, you are lying!
Chloe: Check your phone, Mr. Vance.
Julian pulled his phone out with trembling hands from his coat pocket.
His phone was ringing continuously with urgent alert notifications.
A text from his father appeared on the main screen in bold letters.
The message said their bank accounts were frozen and all projects cancelled.
Julian: My father... our business is completely ruined!
