Arthur: That is fantastic news! Here, drink some fresh juice while it's cold.

Arthur sat down on the sofa beside her, wrapping a warm arm around her shoulders while looking over at Noah playing on the floor.
Arthur: Yes, I spoke with the District Attorney this morning. Victoria accepted a plea bargain to avoid a full public trial. She was sentenced to twelve years in state prison without early parole.
Maya: Twelve years... so she can never come back here?
Arthur: Never. The judge also issued a permanent restraining order. She is stripped of any marital rights, and the bank fraud charges ensured she won't ever see a single cent of your mother's inheritance.
Maya: I was so scared that day, Dad. I thought nobody was going to answer my text.
Arthur: I will always answer you, Maya. No matter where I am, no matter how important a meeting seems, you and Noah are the most important things in my life.
Maya: I know, Dad. Thank you for protecting us.
Arthur kissed the top of Maya's head, watching Noah crawl over and pull himself up using Arthur's pant leg, letting out a bright, joyful squeal.
Arthur: Come here, little guy! Let's go out to the backyard garden and enjoy the sunshine.
