Justice for the Innocent

The Wicked Stepmother Thought She Could Destroy My Daughter

Two local police officers walked briskly into the grand mansion foyer below.

Arthur walked down the stairs calmly and greeted the officers near the door.

He handed them the security camera memory card from his hidden home cameras.

Arthur: Everything that happened on the balcony is recorded right on this digital card.

Officer: We will review this evidence immediately, sir.

Clara came down the stairs slowly with her arms folded across her chest.

She tried to put on a innocent smile for the two uniformed officers.

Clara: Officers, my husband is mistaken! I am the victim here!

Officer: Ma'am, please step forward and keep your hands where we can see them.

The female officer placed steel handcuffs around Clara's wrists with a click.

Clara screamed in anger as she was led toward the front glass doors.

Clara: You will pay for this, Arthur! I will fight you in court!

Arthur: You will spend your time inside a jail cell thinking about your actions.

The officers led Clara away into the back seat of the patrol vehicle.

Arthur turned away from the door and walked back into the living room.

Lily was sitting on the big sofa holding her late mother's stuffed bear.

She looked up at her father with soft, sweet eyes filled with relief.

Arthur knelt down beside her on the rug and wrapped his arms around her.

Arthur: The bad person is gone forever, Lily. Nobody will ever hurt you.

Lily: Is she really never coming back to our big house, Daddy?

Arthur: Never again. It is just you and me from now on.

He retrieved the stolen silver necklace from the floor where Clara dropped it.

He fastened the delicate chain back around his daughter's neck with care.

Lily smiled brightly as she held the shiny silver pendant in her hands.

Lily: Thank you for saving me, Daddy. You are my real hero.

Arthur: I will always protect you, no matter what happens in this world.

He gave her a warm kiss on her forehead and held her close.

The sun shone brightly through the tall foyer windows onto the clean marble.

Peace had finally returned to their home, stronger and safer than ever before.
