Mark dropped his heavy briefcase onto the floor with a loud thud.
Mark: How could you do this?!
His voice roared through the foyer like a sudden clap of thunder.
Mark rushed across the marble floor toward the bottom of the grand staircase.
His face was red with intense fury as he saw his crying daughter.
Eleanor rushed down the steps quickly, raising her hands in immediate defense.
Eleanor: Mark, darling, it was a total accident, I swear!
Eleanor: The poor baby just slipped right over the wooden railing!
Mark: You were supposed to be watching her every single step!
Clara: She is lying to you, Mr. Vance!
Clara spoke up loudly, her voice shaking with strong emotion.
Clara: I saw her push the little girl over the edge!
Eleanor gasped loudly, pointing a sharp finger right at the young maid.
Eleanor: How dare a lowly servant accuse me of such horror!
Eleanor: She is just trying to cover up her own terrible carelessness!
Mark stepped firmly between the two women, his eyes locked on Eleanor.
The tension in the bright foyer grew thicker with every passing second.
Mark looked down at his daughter, who was still clinging to Clara.
He saw the red marks on Clara's knees from her hard dive.
It was clear that Clara had risked her own life to save Lily.
Mark: Clara has taken care of this family with complete devotion.
Mark: Why would she ever lie about something so dangerous?
Eleanor: Because she wants to ruin my marriage with you, Mark!
Eleanor's voice reached a shrill scream as she tried to defend herself.
She stepped closer to Mark, reaching out to grab his arm gently.
Mark backed away instantly, refusing to let her touch his suit.
He knelt down beside Clara and took his crying daughter into his arms.
Mark: You're safe now, my sweet girl.
