David gently handed baby Leo back to Elena, who cradled him softly.
The baby stopped crying as soon as he returned to Elena's warm arms.
David noticed how the child immediately relaxed against Elena's shoulder.
He turned his body fully toward Victoria with a cold and stern look.
David: Elena has been with our family because my late mother chose her.
Victoria: Your mother was old and made terrible decisions near the end!
David: My mother trusted Elena with her life and with our family trust fund.
Victoria's face turned pale for a short moment before she recovered her composure.
Victoria: That has nothing to do with her stealing my diamond necklace today!
Elena stepped forward cautiously while holding the sleeping baby tightly.
Elena: Mr. Sterling, I have something in my room that you need to see.
Victoria: Do not listen to this lie, David, throw her out right now!
David: Go bring it down, Elena.
Elena walked quickly down the side hall toward the staff quarters near the back.
Victoria glared at David with anger and frustration visible on her face.
Victoria: You are taking the word of a servant over your legal wife!
David: I am looking for the truth, Victoria, wherever it leads me.
A few moments later, Elena returned holding a small brown notebook and an envelope.
She handed the items directly to David without looking at Victoria.
Elena: I kept a record of every time Mrs. Sterling neglected the baby.
Elena: And I found this envelope dropped near the home office desk yesterday.
David opened the official document inside the white envelope carefully.
His eyes scanned the lines of printed text as his expression hardened completely.
It was an official legal document regarding adoption and estate inheritance trust funds.
Victoria tried to snatch the paper from David's hand, but he pulled it away.
David: What is the meaning of this, Victoria?
Victoria: It is nothing, just old paperwork from my lawyer!
David: This document states you tried to transfer Leo's trust fund to a private account!
Victoria took a step back as her confidence began to crumble quickly.
