Arthur picked up his mobile phone and placed a direct call to his corporate attorney.
Arthur: Edward, I need you at my house immediately with full legal documentation.
Edward: Is everything alright, Arthur?
Arthur: I am revoking all household power of attorney granted to my wife.
Victoria rushed forward and tried to grab the phone out of Arthur's hand.
Victoria: You cannot do this to me over a simple misunderstanding!
Arthur pulled back and raised his hand to stop her from coming closer.
Arthur: Stay away from me and stay away from my daughter.
Victoria: I married you! I have legal rights to this house and your estate!
Arthur: You signed a comprehensive prenuptial agreement before our wedding.
Victoria laughed bitterly and shook her head in defiance.
Victoria: That prenuptial agreement only applies if I breach marital conditions!
Arthur: Stealing family inheritance and abusing my child is a total breach!
Lily sat on the leather armchair, watching her father stand up for her.
For months, she had felt isolated and helpless inside the huge house.
Now, seeing her father stand as her protector brought tears of relief to her eyes.
Lily: She threatened to send me to a boarding school overseas if I told you.

The sound of tires on gravel announced the arrival of the family lawyer.
