Arthur walked down the grand marble staircase with a thick leather folder in his hand.
The guests stepped aside respectfully as the true owner of the company approached the center.
He stood right beside his daughter and laid a gentle hand on her bruised shoulder.
Arthur: You fought bravely to protect our home while I was recovering, Clara.
Clara: I promised you I would never let him destroy what you spent decades building.
Arthur: And tonight, every lie he told comes to an end right here in public.
Julian wiped a drop of sweat from his forehead with his silk handkerchief.
Julian: Arthur, please, we were partners for five whole years before this misunderstanding.
Arthur: A partner does not alter medical reports to steal control of a board.
Julian: I did what was necessary to keep the company stock prices from crashing down!
Arthur: You did what was necessary to line your own pockets with stolen wealth.
Arthur opened the leather folder and pulled out a official legal document with gold seals.
Arthur: This is a full audit performed by federal investigators over the last month.
Julian: How could you hire investigators without my approval as acting Chief Executive?
Arthur: Because I never gave up my majority stock ownership in this family estate.
Julian gasped as he realized his entire position had been a complete illusion.
Julian: The board voted to give me voting power back in November!
Arthur: That vote was invalid because you forged three signatures on the board proxy forms.
The guests raised their voices in anger, surrounding Julian from all sides now.
Investor 3: You forged my signature on those corporate transfer documents, Julian!
Julian: It was for the good of the firm, I promise you all your money is safe!
Clara: Their money is safe because my father froze all outgoing transfers an hour ago.
Julian slumped his shoulders as his arrogant posture completely crumbled away in front of everyone.
Julian: Clara, please... we were supposed to get married next summer in this very hall.
Clara: I would rather spend my life alone than marry a deceitful criminal like you.
Julian: I loved you, Clara, everything I did was to secure our future together!
Clara: You loved the wealth and status that came with my family's old name.
She pointed toward the massive iron doors at the end of the long grand room.
Clara: Your future is not in this hall, and it is certainly not with me.
Julian: You cannot leave me trapped inside this room forever with these angry people!
Clara: You will stay in this room until the police arrive with your arrest warrant.
