Arthur opened the main folder and laid three distinct parchment sheets out flat on the table.
The sunlight illuminated the gold seals and official notary signatures on the white pages.
Arthur: David discovered that you transferred two million dollars out of Maya's fund last month.
Evelyn froze in place near the open double doors, her hands trembling by her side.
Evelyn: That money was used to pay off important corporate debts for the estate!
Arthur: Those funds were deposited directly into a private offshore account under your name.
Maya looked down at the bright emerald beads scattered across the marble floor tiles.
Maya: My father told me the stones were a symbol of honesty and truth.
Mark: He was right, Maya, and truth always wins in the end.
Mark knelt down on the white marble floor and began gathering the loose emerald beads.
He placed each green stone gently back into Maya's small open hand one by one.
Mark: We will have this necklace re-strung tomorrow morning by a professional jeweler.
Maya: Thank you for saving me, Uncle Mark, I was so scared up there.
Mark: You never have to be scared in this house ever again, sweetheart.
Evelyn backed away slowly toward the large wooden coat rack near the front entrance.
Evelyn: You cannot prove where those funds were sent without my private bank codes!
Arthur: The federal bank auditors completed their investigation early this morning, Evelyn.
Arthur pulled a small police document out from the bottom of his legal stack.
Arthur: Two state officers are waiting outside right now to ask you several questions.
Evelyn's face lost all color as she stared at the official law enforcement letterhead.
Evelyn: You called the police on your own late husband's sister?
Mark: You threatened an innocent child for money, so you brought this on yourself.
