Evelyn turned around swiftly and marched out of the dining room into hall.
Her heels clicked loudly against the white marble floor as she headed upstairs.
David followed her closely while instructing Lily to stay safely near the table.
He caught up to Evelyn just as she reached the wide open balcony above.
The bright midday sun shone down through the skylight directly over their heads.
An American flag hung proudly along the tall grand entrance hall wall nearby.
Evelyn turned to face David with absolute fury blazing in her cold eyes.
Evelyn: You think you can destroy my life with some petty video clip?
David: You destroyed your own life the moment you tried harming my child!
Evelyn: I gave up my independence to live in this massive mansion with you!
David: You lied about loving my daughter just to access her inheritance fund!
Suddenly little Lily ran into the entry hall below calling out for her dad.
She was holding the small repaired photograph that her father had saved earlier.
Lily: Daddy! Look, I put mom's picture back together on the paper!
Evelyn looked over the heavy wooden railing down at the innocent child below.
A sudden wave of unhinged rage washed across her pale bitter face instantly.
She rushed toward the top of the marble staircase shouting down at Lily.
Evelyn: Stop talking about your mother! You don't belong in this family!
Lily froze in total terror at the foot of the grand marble stairs.
David stepped forward rapidly and caught Evelyn by the arm to stop her.
David: Do not scream at my daughter like that ever again!
Evelyn yanked her arm away violently and turned back toward David in anger.
Evelyn: I hate this house and I hate that miserable little girl!
She swung her heavy leather handbag hard toward David's face in deep frustration.
David ducked back quickly to protect himself from the sudden sharp attack.
The leather bag struck the wooden railing post with a loud booming thud.
Evelyn lost her balance momentarily on her thin high heels on marble step.
She stumbled backward against the wall breathing heavily with open humiliation and rage.
David: You have lost your mind entirely, Evelyn! Get control of yourself!
Evelyn: I will take half of everything you own in a divorce court!
David: You will get absolutely nothing after what you tried to do here!
Down below Lily began to weep quietly as the shouting echoed overhead loudly.
David looked down at his crying daughter and felt his heart break completely.
He could not allow this chaotic toxic scene to continue inside his house.
He stood firm between Evelyn and the staircase leading down to the girl.
David: You are leaving this property right now before I call the police.
Evelyn: You wouldn't dare humiliate me in front of the whole town!
David: I am giving you ten minutes to pack your personal belongings up.
Evelyn glared at David with total hatred before turning back to her bedroom.
David hurried down the wide stairs to wrap his protective arms around Lily.
He lifted her up off the cold marble floor and held her close.
The final showdown was coming and justice was finally within their reach.
