The Stepmother Pushed My Daughter From The Balcony Before I Checked The Camera

The polished floor tiles reflected the morning light pouring through the two-story glass windows of the grand Dallas mansion[cite: 1].

Standing on the curved mezzanine balustrade, Vanessa Vance adjusted the gold watch on her wrist, her white designer dress rustling against the dark banister[cite: 1].

Six-year-old Lily backed away slowly in her cream lace dress, her small fingers gripping the edge of the wooden railing[cite: 1].

Lily: No, please! Don't touch my clothes[cite: 1]!

Vanessa: You don't tell me what to do in this house, you little brat[cite: 1]!

Lily: My daddy told me to wait right here for him! He’s parking his car in the garage[cite: 1]!

Vanessa: Your daddy isn't here to protect you, and neither is your dead mother[cite: 1]!

Vanessa took two fast steps forward, planting both of her open palms hard against the little girl's chest[cite: 1].

Lily lost her footing on the slick floorboards, tumbling straight over the high wooden railing with an agonizing scream[cite: 1].

Lily: Daddy! Help me[cite: 1]!

Through the heavy mahogany front entrance doors, Julian Sterling walked into the foyer wearing his tailored grey business suit[cite: 1].

His eyes snapped upward toward the ceiling, his briefcase dropping instantly onto the floor tiles as his heart stopped beating[cite: 1].

Julian: Lily! No[cite: 1]!

He sprinted across the foyer with desperate speed, his leather soles sliding against the polished stone as he threw both arms out[cite: 1].

His knees hit the hard floor in a brutal skid as his forearms locked together, snatching Lily out of the air barely two inches above the ground[cite: 1].

Lily buried her face into his grey lapels, sobbing so hard her tiny ribs shook against his chest[cite: 1].

Lily: Daddy, I was so scared[cite: 1]!

Julian: I have you, sweetheart. Daddy’s got you. You're safe now[cite: 1].

Julian lifted his weeping daughter into his arms, but as he looked toward the top of the grand stairs, his face turned into a mask of pure, lethal fury[cite: 1].

He had no idea that the locked safe in his private study held the secret that would destroy Vanessa by nightfall[cite: 1].
