The Boardroom Cleansing

The Stepmother Drowned My Baby Before Finding Out Her True Secret

The following morning, the fifty-story glass tower of Vance Maritime Logistics stood silent beneath a clear Texas sky.

Inside the top-floor executive boardroom, thirty senior corporate directors sat around the forty-foot mahogany table.

At the center lay the morning edition of the Dallas Morning News: Heiress Victoria Vance Charged with Attempted Capital Murder; Port Merger Canceled.

The double frosted-glass doors swung open with an authoritative click, and Gabriel Vance strode into the room.

He wore a sharp dark charcoal three-piece suit, his posture tall, imposing, and completely commanding.

Sitting proudly on his left arm was four-month-old Oliver, dressed in a soft white cotton romper, cooing softly.

Walking beside them was Elena, dressed in an elegant navy business suit, holding a dark blue leather portfolio.

Behind them walked Chief Corporate Counsel David Henderson, carrying two thick briefcases stamped with Department of Justice seals.

Director Miller: Gabriel! Thank goodness you arrived safely. The markets opened with an eight-percent drop after the news!

Gabriel: The markets will recover by noon, Director Miller. Because today, the Vance enterprise purges its foundation completely.

Gabriel stepped to the head of the conference table, pulling out the executive leather armchair and sitting down.

Gabriel: Members of the board, as of nine o'clock this morning, the federal court finalized the full seizure of Arthur Vance’s voting shares.

David Henderson stepped to the podium, opening the leather portfolio and laying out the signed judicial decrees.

David Henderson: Under the restored terms of the Clara Vance Testamentary Trust, sixty percent of corporate voting stock has been transferred to Oliver James Vance.

Director Hayes: And the executive trusteeship?

David Henderson: Fully shared between CEO Gabriel Vance and Executive Trustee Elena Miller, ratified by the probate court forty minutes ago.

Director Miller: Which means the proposed merger with Arthur Vance’s shell firm is officially dead!

Gabriel: It is dead, buried, and erased from our corporate books. Resolution number one: all contracts formerly assigned to the Vance syndicate are terminated with permanent cause.

Director Hayes: Unanimously approved! Every single vote!

Gabriel: Resolution number two: the twenty million dollars recovered from Arthur Vance's Swiss accounts will be directed immediately to establish the Clara Vance Pediatric Trauma Center at Children’s Medical Dallas.

The entire boardroom stood to their feet, erupting into loud, enthusiastic standing applause that echoed through the high glass windows.

Director Miller: Hear, hear! To CEO Gabriel Vance and our new Chief Trustee, Elena Miller!

Oliver clapped his tiny hands together, letting out a soft, happy baby giggle as he looked up at his father.

Gabriel smiled warmly, leaning down to press a soft kiss against his son's forehead before extending his hand to Elena.

Gabriel: Thank you, Elena. For standing between my boy and the dark.

Elena: We did it together, Gabriel. Clara's memory is honored, and truth will always outshine cruelty.

The dark shadows of greed, arrogance, and cold-blooded betrayal had vanished completely, leaving behind an open sky.

Director Hayes: The morning stock ticker just rebounded six points, Gabriel! Investors trust your clean leadership!

Gabriel: Good. Let everyone know Vance Maritime stands on integrity and family, not corruption.

Elena: Let’s take little Oliver home, Gabriel. The nursery is waiting.

Gabriel: Yes, Elena. Let’s go home.
