Arthur froze in the doorway as he looked up at the dramatic scene above.
Clara held the crumpled trust fund folder tightly against her blue maid apron.
Victoria was crouched on the landing carpet while holding her flushed, angry face.
Arthur: What is the meaning of this sudden chaos inside my home?
Clara: Look at what she tried to do to your son's future, Mr. Sterling!
Arthur sprinted up the wide marble stairs taking two steps at a single time.
Victoria quickly adjusted her champagne gown and forced tears into her blue eyes.
Victoria: Arthur, darling, this insane maid just attacked me on the balcony!
Victoria: She was trying to steal your private estate papers from your locked desk!
Clara held up the papers without a single trace of fear in her eyes.
Clara: She tried to throw these documents and break the bronze decor below!
Clara: She wanted to ruin the trust fund so baby Leo would get nothing!
Arthur took the paper folder from Clara's shaking hands and inspected the official seal.
The edge of the document was torn exactly where Victoria had grabbed it moments ago.
Arthur looked from the legal papers to the bronze pedestal sitting dangerously near the edge.
He remembered Victoria's constant complaints about the child's upcoming large inheritance.
The truth hit him like a physical blow to his heavy chest.
Arthur: Is this really true, Victoria?
Victoria: She is lying to you because she wants a bigger paycheck, Arthur!
Clara: Check the security camera mounted right on the foyer ceiling, sir.
Victoria turned pale as she glanced up at the small black dome camera lens.
She had completely forgotten that Arthur installed extra security cameras last month.
The entire incident on the second-floor balcony had been recorded in clear detail.
Arthur pulled out his mobile phone and opened the live security feed app.
He watched the video playback of Victoria attempting to throw the estate papers down.
He saw Clara lunging forward heroically to protect the family records and the child.
Arthur's hands trembled with extreme anger as he looked at his second wife.
Arthur: You absolute monster!
