Adrian reached the bottom of the stairs with a pale face.
He heard the baby crying loudly across the high foyer.
He saw Victoria pointing angrily at Elena near the marble steps.
Adrian: What in the world is happening here?!
Victoria: Adrian, thank goodness you are finally here!
Victoria: Elena tried to push our daughter down the stairs!
Elena: That is completely untrue, Mr. Sterling!
Adrian: Is Maya hurt at all?
Elena carefully handed the crying infant into Adrian's arms.
Adrian checked his daughter's tiny hands and soft head.
The infant was completely unharmed thanks to Elena's quick reaction.
Adrian looked up at Elena with dark, angry eyes.
Adrian: Elena, how could this happen on your watch?
Elena: I was downstairs cleaning when I heard her shout.
Elena: I ran as fast as I could to stop it.
Victoria: She is lying to cover up her awful mistake!
Victoria: I saw her push the handle with my own eyes!
Victoria: She wants to get revenge because I corrected her earlier!
Elena shook her head in complete disbelief at the wild story.
Elena: I would never harm a hair on this child!
Elena: I love baby Maya like my own family!
Victoria: You are a dangerous woman who needs to leave!
Victoria stepped closer to Elena and yelled in her face.
Victoria: Fire her right now, Adrian, or I call the police!
Adrian: Elena, you have worked here for five whole years.
Adrian: I trusted you with the most precious thing I have.
Elena: Please, Mr. Sterling, look at me and listen!
Elena: Why would I risk my life jumping onto the stairs?
Victoria: She did that only after she realized I was watching!
The room was filled with harsh shouting and heavy tension.
Victoria put her hands over her face and pretended to cry.
Victoria: My poor heart cannot take this terrible trauma!
Adrian placed his arm around Victoria to support her shoulder.
Elena felt utterly hopeless as her boss turned away from her.
