The woman in white struggled to stand as tears rolled down her face.
She reached desperately toward Lily.
"Please... don't take her away."
The woman in maroon tightened her grip on the frightened child.
"You'll never touch her again."
Lily cried harder.
She looked back at the woman in white, who was still kneeling on the marble floor with her arms stretched toward her.
Then something incredible happened.
The little girl suddenly pulled with all her strength.
She broke free from the woman's grasp.
Standing in the center of the hallway with tears streaming down her face, Lily screamed at the top of her lungs.
"DON'T HURT MY REAL MOMMY!"
The words echoed through every corner of the mansion.
Complete silence followed.
The woman in maroon froze instantly.
The anger vanished from her face, replaced by shock and fear.
Guests exchanged confused glances.
Some whispered.
Others stared at the child in disbelief.
Just then, the grand entrance doors burst open.
A man dressed in a black tuxedo rushed inside after hearing the commotion.
His eyes immediately found Lily.
Then he saw the woman in maroon reaching toward the frightened child again.
Without hesitation, he stepped between them.
A loud slap echoed through the hallway.
The woman in maroon stumbled backward, completely stunned.
The man immediately knelt beside Lily and the woman in white, wrapping both of them in a protective embrace.
His voice was calm...
But filled with unmistakable warning.
"Touch my family one more time..."
He looked directly into the shocked woman's eyes.
"...and you'll lose everything you have."
For the first time that evening, the woman in maroon realized the truth was no longer hidden.
And the little girl's courage had just exposed a secret that could destroy everything she had built.
