Victoria collapsed onto the velvet couch, her neat hair falling into her face.
She looked up at Gabriel with a mixture of burning rage and deep despair.
Victoria: You think you are so perfect sitting up here in your high tower!
Gabriel: I am far from perfect, but I am honest.
Victoria: Nobody in our social circle will ever respect you after this scandal!
Gabriel: I do not care about the social circle, Victoria.
Gabriel: I care about doing what is right under my own roof.
Maria stepped forward, standing right beside Gabriel with her head held high.
Maria: My mother worked honest hours every single day of her life.
Maria: You took her legacy because you thought nobody would ever check on me.
Victoria: You are nothing, Maria, just a girl who sweeps my floors!
Gabriel: She is a hundred times the person you will ever be, Victoria.
Gabriel picked up the diamond ring from the mahogany table once again.
He walked over to Maria and placed the massive ring right into her palm.
Victoria: What are you doing with my ring?!
Gabriel: This ring was bought with my family's money, Victoria.
Gabriel: I am giving it to Maria to cover her stolen inheritance and college fees.
Victoria gasped sharply, scrambling off the couch to try to grab the jewel.
Victoria: That ring costs two hundred thousand dollars, you cannot give it away!
Gabriel: Watch me, Victoria, it is my property to do with as I please.
Maria looked down at the glittering diamond in her hand with complete disbelief.
Maria: Mr. Gabriel, this is too much, I cannot accept this!
Gabriel: You will accept it, Maria, it will secure your entire future.
Outside the long dining room windows, the faint sound of sirens began to echo.
The red and blue lights reflected off the clean glass panes of the front entrance.
Victoria turned pale as the siren sounds grew louder down the private driveway.
Gabriel: Texas police are on their way, and they have a warrant.
