Victoria gasped dramatically and buried her face into her soft hands in fake sadness.
Victoria: How could you accuse me of such a cruel and horrible thing, Sarah?
Mark: Victoria, did you open this safety gate while Leo was playing up here?
Victoria: Of course I didn't, Mark, I would never put a toddler in danger!
Sarah: You are lying through your teeth to protect your own selfish position!
Victoria: Mark, she unlocked it herself so she could frame me and demand more custody!
Sarah felt a wave of disgust wash over her as she listened to Victoria's lies.
She looked directly at Mark, hoping he would recognize the truth in her eyes.
Mark looked back and forth between his ex-wife and his current bride with growing tension.
He loved his toddler son more than life itself and hated any kind of conflict.
Mark: Both of you need to calm down so we can figure this out logically.
Sarah: Logical, Mark, your wife almost let our two-year-old child fall down marble stairs!
Victoria: She is trying to turn you against me so she can claim full inheritance rights!
Sarah: I do not care about your wealthy mansion or your family trust fund money!
Sarah: I only care about protecting my innocent child from a dangerous human being!
Victoria wiped away a non-existent tear from her cheek with a delicate hand.
Victoria: Mark, if she stays in this house another minute, I am calling my lawyer.
Mark: Nobody is calling any divorce lawyer or police officer until I see proof.
Sarah suddenly remembered something important that made her heart leap with hope.
The family had recently hired a home security team to install cameras inside.
She turned her gaze toward the corner of the high ceiling upper hallway.
A small black dome security camera was mounted directly above the staircase entrance.
Its tiny red recording light was glowing steadily in the bright hallway light.
Sarah pointed her finger upward directly toward the hidden security lens on high.
Sarah: Check the security system feed right now, Mark, the lens sees everything!
Victoria's face turned completely pale as her confident smirk instantly disappeared from view.
