The Table Breaks

The Rich Mother Demanded Service Until Her Son Ended Everything

Mark stared down his mother with absolute disbelief and fury.

His hands curled into tight fists at his sides.

He took three fast steps forward toward the decorated party table.

The guests backed away into their chairs with wide eyes.

Mark grabbed the heavy edge of the solid wooden table.

With one sudden, powerful lift, he flipped the entire table over.

The table crashed violently onto the polished hardwood floor.

Plates shattered loudly into hundreds of tiny ceramic shards.

Glassware burst apart, scattering fruit juice and water everywhere.

The large flower vase shattered, spilling pink petals across the floor.

Guests screamed in total terror as food splattered across the wall.

Evelyn jumped up from her chair, gasping in complete shock.

Mark stood over the ruined meal with his chest heaving hard.

He turned furiously to face the remaining frightened relatives.

Sarah stood completely frozen near the sink under the American flag.

She pulled her sleeping baby tightly against her warm chest.

Mark: If she doesn't get to rest, then NOBODY EATS!

His voice roared through the open architecture of the mansion.

Evelyn stood rigid, clutching her pearl necklace in total terror.

Evelyn: You destroyed my party in front of all my friends!

Mark: You destroyed my wife's dignity in front of everyone!

Evelyn: I am your mother, you owe me total respect!

Mark: Respect is earned, and you have earned none today!

Mark stepped forward until he was standing inches from her face.

He slammed his heavy fist onto the nearby marble counter edge.

The loud thud made Evelyn jump backward against her chair.

Mark: Look around this room at the mess you created!

Evelyn: You are out of your mind, Mark!

Mark: No, I am finally seeing everything clearly now!

The guests quietly began grabbing their purses to leave the scene.

Nobody wanted to remain in the middle of the exploding conflict.
