The Prisoner Raised An Axe At The Funeral Until The Coffin Revealed A Secret

The church was packed with grieving family members when the back doors suddenly opened.

A woman wearing an orange prison uniform walked inside.

Everyone turned toward her.

She looked exhausted, frightened, and completely determined.

At the front of the church sat a white coffin surrounded by flowers.

The dead woman inside was believed to have been a wealthy family's beloved mother.

But the woman in orange did not look at the mourners.

She stared directly at the coffin.

Daniel: “What are you doing here?”

Daniel, the woman's son, stepped into her path.

Maria: “Move.”

Daniel: “You were arrested for stealing from my family. You have no right to be here.”

Maria's eyes filled with tears.

Maria: “I didn't steal anything.”

Daniel: “Silence, you filthy maid!”

The insult echoed through the church.

Maria looked at the coffin again.

Maria: “Your mother isn't supposed to be buried today.”

Daniel's face hardened.

Daniel: “Get her out of here.”

Two security guards started walking toward Maria.

Then Maria pulled an axe from beneath her coat.

The church erupted in screams.

She raised it above the coffin.

Maria: “Nobody touches this coffin!”

The guards froze.

Daniel: “Put that down!”

Maria: “Open it.”

Daniel: “You're insane.”

Maria: “Then open it and prove me wrong.”

A man in a gray suit suddenly rushed through the crowd.

Michael: “Maria, stop!”

He grabbed the axe handle before she could strike.

Maria: “Let go of me!”

Michael: “If you're wrong, you'll destroy everything.”

Maria: “If I'm right, they're about to bury the evidence.”

Everyone stared at the coffin.

Daniel stepped closer.

Daniel: “She died peacefully at the hospital.”

Maria: “That's what you told the police.”

Daniel: “Because it's the truth.”

Maria: “Then why did she call me the night before she died?”

Daniel suddenly went quiet.

Maria lowered the axe.

Maria: “She told me you were trying to take everything from her.”

The crowd began whispering.

Daniel: “That's a lie.”

Maria: “She gave me something before they took her to the hospital.”

Maria reached into her pocket.

She pulled out a small silver key.

Maria: “She told me that if she died, I should use this key before her funeral.”

Michael looked at the coffin.

Michael: “A key to what?”

Maria looked at Daniel.

Maria: “That's what he's afraid you'll find out.”

Daniel suddenly lunged toward her.

Michael stepped between them.

Michael: “Nobody moves.”

The police officer standing near the entrance walked forward.

Officer: “I think we need to find out why this prisoner came here before anyone leaves.”

Maria slowly pointed toward the coffin.

Maria: “Start there.”
