The Little Girl's Warning

The Poisoned Wine Glass Revealed Her Darkest Secret Tonight

David looked down at the bright red liquid on the floor.

His eyes widened in utter disbelief at the terrible sight.

The wine was not soaking harmlessly into the cold stone.

Instead, the spilled liquid was sizzling and foaming aggressively.

Thick white smoke began rising slowly into the air.

The expensive light marble floor was turning dark and pitted.

A strong chemical odor filled the entire dining room space.

David backed away from the table with a sharp gasp.

David: What on earth is in that bottle of wine?

Victoria's face turned completely pale under the room lights.

She backed away toward the grand kitchen door slowly.

Victoria: I do not know what you are talking about.

Lily wrapped her arms around her father's leg tightly.

She was crying heavy tears of pure fear and pain.

Lily: Dad! Drink hurt! Not death!

David knelt down instantly on the hard floor beside her.

He placed his hands gently on her shaking shoulders.

David: Lily, tell me what you saw in the kitchen.

Lily wiped her wet face with her yellow dress sleeve.

Lily: I saw her put powder from a small bottle.

David turned his head slowly to look back at Victoria.

His heart was pounding wildly inside his chest with rage.

David: Is this true, Victoria? Answer me right now!

Victoria clasped her hands together in dramatic distress.

Victoria: She is lying to you! She hates me!

David stood up to his full height with terrifying authority.

David: The wine on the floor is eating through solid marble!

Victoria pointed an accusing finger at the frightened young girl.

Victoria: She is just a child! Don't listen to her!

Lily: She said you would go to sleep forever, Daddy!

David felt a cold chill run all the way down his spine.

He realized his life had been saved by his young daughter.

If he had swallowed that drink, he would be dead.

David: How could you bring such evil into my house?

Victoria tried to change her angry expression to soft tears.

Victoria: David, please, you must listen to my side first.

She stepped closer toward him with her hands held out.

Victoria: I love you more than anyone else ever could.

David stepped in front of Lily to protect her body.

David: Do not take another single step toward my child.

Victoria stopped moving as her fake smile vanished completely.

Her eyes narrowed into a dark and mean glare.

Victoria: You are making a huge mistake right now, David.

David looked down at the sizzling stain on the floor.

The reality of her horrible betrayal hit him very hard.

David: The only mistake I made was trusting a snake.
