At three in the afternoon, Arthur returned home to his mansion.
His stepbrother Harold was sitting in the main living room.
Harold was sipping expensive tea while reading the business paper.
Harold: Arthur, you left the dinner party so suddenly last night.
Arthur: I had to clear up a small family matter, Harold.
Harold smiled calmly and put his porcelain teacup back down.
Harold: Is everything alright with the estate finances?
Arthur: Everything is about to change forever regarding the estate.
Arthur gestured toward the wide front door of the house.
Clara walked inside wearing a beautiful blue silk dress.
Leo walked right beside her holding her right hand tightly.
Harold stared at Clara and dropped his metal teacup on the rug.
The hot tea spilled across the expensive white carpet pattern.
Harold: Who is this young woman and why is she here?
Arthur: You know exactly who she is, Harold.
Harold: She is just one of the hired cleaning staff.
Clara: I am Elena's daughter, Uncle Harold.
Harold's face turned completely white as he stood up slowly.
Harold: That girl died in the hospital ten years ago!
Arthur: Doctor Vance just confessed everything to the police.
Two city police officers stepped into the room behind Clara.
Officer: Harold Sterling, you are under arrest for fraud and conspiracy.
Harold: This is a massive mistake, I did nothing wrong!
Arthur: You stole millions from my daughter's rightful trust fund.
Arthur: The police have all the bank records from Doctor Vance.
Harold tried to speak but no words came out of his throat.
The officers placed heavy metal cuffs around Harold's wrists.
They led him out the front door into the bright daylight.
Leo looked up at his father with a huge happy smile.
Leo: Is she staying with us forever now, Dad?
Arthur: She is never leaving this home ever again.
Clara looked down at the sapphire bracelet ring on her hand.
The blue stone sparkled brightly in the warm sunlight of the room.
She knew her mother had protected her through all those years.
