The Confrontation In The Hall

The Maid Who Caught Her Boss's Secret Baby In Time

Arthur dropped his heavy leather briefcase onto the light marble floor with a thud.

He hurried over to Elena and quickly checked his crying baby for any injuries.

Arthur: Is he hurt? Did anything touch him?

Elena: He is completely fine, sir, thanks to the safety harness holding him tight.

Victoria reached the bottom of the staircase and pointed her finger aggressively at Elena.

Victoria: She is out of her mind, Arthur! She lost her balance while cleaning!

Elena: I was near the front entrance when I saw you push it, ma'am!

Victoria: You are a lying servant who is trying to save her own job!

Arthur stood up to his full height and locked eyes with his tearful wife.

Arthur: Elena has served this family faithfully long before you ever arrived here, Victoria.

Victoria: So you trust a hired maid over your own devoted wife now?

Arthur: I trust the truth, and right now you look completely terrified of it.

Victoria stepped closer to Arthur and tried to grab his hand with fake warmth.

Victoria: The stroller slipped near the edge because the wheel locks were broken, darling.

Elena: I checked the brake locks myself just twenty minutes ago, Mr. Sterling.

Arthur took a deep breath as explosive rage began to build inside his chest.

He looked at the high balcony railing where the incident had just taken place.

Arthur: Why would the stroller even be upstairs near that dangerous open railing, Victoria?

Victoria: I was taking him to his morning nap in the guest room suite!

Arthur: His nursery is on the ground floor right next to my private office!

Victoria stammered as her elaborate cover story began falling apart under simple questioning.

She backed away slightly as Arthur took a firm step toward her in anger.

Arthur: How dare you endanger my innocent son in my own home!

Victoria: You are making a huge mistake if you accuse me of such madness!

Arthur pointed his stern finger directly at Victoria's face as his voice boomed loud.

Arthur: Get away from my family forever before I call the city police!

Victoria gasped as she stumbled backward onto the polished marble floor in complete shock.

She clutched her dress in utter humiliation under the giant American flag hanging above.

The maid stood silently nearby, holding the stroller firm as the dramatic truth unveiled.
