Justice in the Manor

Officer Davis: Partner, secure the female in the bronze dress as well!

Veronica: No! Don't touch me! I'm a victim here! Julian forced me to do it!

Officer Davis: Ma'am, stop resisting! Put your hands behind your back!

Two officers tackled Julian to the polished white marble floor, forcing his arms behind his back and snapping heavy steel handcuffs around his wrists with a loud metallic click. Another officer pinned Veronica against the wall, cuffing her wrists over her bronze silk gown while she sobbed hysterically.

Julian: Father! Tell them to stop! You can't let them take your only son to jail!

Arthur: You stopped being my son the moment you put poison in my glass, Julian. I will personally make sure the district attorney gives you the maximum sentence allowed by state law.

Officer Davis: Who is the owner of the phone containing the video evidence?

Maria: I am, officer. Here is the full unedited video file showing Miss Veronica pouring the liquid into the decanter, along with the audio recording of Mr. Julian handing her the vial in the hallway.

Officer Davis: You did an outstanding job, ma'am. This digital evidence is clear, stamped with timestamps, and completely solid.

Maria: I just wanted to make sure Mr. Vance was safe.

Arthur walked over to Maria, his eyes filled with tears of deep gratitude and humility. He looked at her reddened cheek where Veronica had slapped her, then reached out, taking her trembling hand in both of his.

Arthur: Maria... I don't know how I can ever repay you for what you did tonight. You took a slap to the face to save an old man from his own foolish blind spots.

Maria: You have always been kind to my family, Mr. Vance. You paid for my daughter's asthma treatment last year. I could never let anyone hurt you.

Arthur: From this day on, you are no longer a maid in this house, Maria. I want you to manage my private foundation with a full salary and executive benefits.

The dining room guests clapped loudly as the police dragged Julian and Veronica out through the grand double doors, their screams and pleas fading down the long white marble hallway.
