Heavy footsteps sounded outside the front door of the mansion.
Julian had called the police officers before he even arrived.
He had known something was wrong when his calls failed.
Two city officers stepped through the open bright front entrance.
They saw the battered woman held in Julian's strong arms.
They saw the broken glass and the stern lawyer standing silent.
Julian pointed his finger directly up at the staircase landing.
Julian: Arrest that woman for false imprisonment and fraud.
Vivian: This is my house, you cannot treat me so!
Officer: Step down the stairs slowly with your hands clear.
Vivian tried to argue but the officer grabbed her wrist.
They placed metal handcuffs on her wrists in plain view.
Arthur surrendered the black folder without saying a single word.
He knew his legal career was completely over this morning.
Julian picked Elena up carefully into his strong arms today.
She wrapped her thin arms tightly around his neck now.
The grey maid uniform would be burned before the sunset.
She was no longer a prisoner in her own home anymore.
The bright daylight lit up the American flag behind them.
Julian carried his wife out into the fresh clean air.
