Arthur's voice echoed through the high ceilings of the mansion like heavy thunder in a storm.
He handed the tablet to Sarah and stepped toward his trembling wife with absolute fury.
Arthur: The audit team told me yesterday that someone transferred two million dollars to a foreign account.
Evelyn: I know nothing about any foreign bank accounts, Arthur, I swear to you!
Arthur: The camera audio picked up your conversation on the balcony late last night, Evelyn.
Evelyn covered her mouth with both hands, her eyes wide with total terror and embarrassment.
Evelyn: You... you recorded my private phone call on the balcony yesterday?
Arthur: Every single word of your plan to leave the country with my company's money.
Sarah: Mr. Vance, I also found these papers hidden behind the library sofa cushions this morning.
Sarah pulled a thin folded stack of white bank documents from her deep apron pocket carefully.
She handed the papers directly to Arthur, keeping her distance from the panicking woman.
Arthur scanned the pages quickly, his face growing darker with every line he read out loud.
Arthur: You forged my signature on the trust release forms for Clara's future college fund!
Evelyn: Arthur, we can work this out privately without bringing lawyers or police into this!
Arthur: You tried to send an innocent girl to prison to cover up your massive grand larceny!
Evelyn: I did it because you never give me enough attention or freedom in this marriage!
Arthur: You had everything any person could ever dream of, yet your greed ruined it all!
Little Clara began to cry quietly again, reaching her small arms out toward her gentle nanny.
Arthur: Sarah, please take Clara down to the garden where it is calm and peaceful.
Sarah: Yes, Mr. Vance, come here my sweet girl, everything is going to be alright now.
Sarah took the toddler gently into her arms and held her safe against her clean white apron.
She walked down the marble stairs calmly, leaving the corrupted woman to face her consequences.
Evelyn: Sarah, wait! Tell him you made a mistake! Tell him the papers are yours!
Sarah: I will never lie for someone who tries to harm a innocent child, Mrs. Vance.
