Heavy footsteps sounded sharply outside the heavy double glass front doors of the mansion.
The front doors slammed open wide as Arthur stepped into the white marble hall.
He carried his black leather briefcase after returning early from his business meeting.
He stopped immediately when he heard the loud crying echo through his house.
He saw Elena holding his crying son near the large American flag column display.
He saw Victoria standing nearby with a flushed face and angry brown eyes.
Arthur: What on earth is going on in my house right now?
Victoria immediately changed her voice into a soft and dramatic cry of sorrow.
She covered her mouth with both hands and rushed toward Arthur with tears.
Victoria: Darling, thank goodness you are home to save us from this crazy maid!
Arthur frowned deeply and set his heavy briefcase down on the stone floor.
Arthur: Victoria, tell me what happened here before I lose my temper.
Victoria: Darling, she is lying to you about everything that just happened!
Victoria: I didn't do anything wrong to the child, I swear to you!
Victoria pointed her long fingernail dramatically at Elena with a angry look.
Victoria: She dropped your son on the floor and tried to blame me!
Elena stepped forward bravely while holding little Leo close in her warm arms.
Her voice was clear and steady as she looked straight into Arthur's eyes.
Elena: Do not believe her fake tears for one single second, Mr. Vance.
Victoria: Silence, you lying maid, before I have you arrested for slander!
Elena reached into her apron pocket again and turned her phone screen around.
Elena: Look at this video, sir! She was dragging your baby on a leash!
Arthur took a fast step forward and looked down at the bright smartphone screen.
The video clip played clearly in high resolution in the middle of the hall.
Arthur saw Victoria pulling the baby harness callously across the hard marble floor.
He saw his sweet baby crying in fear while Victoria walked ahead without care.
The color drained completely from Arthur's face as he watched the horrible scene.
A deep silence filled the large hall as the video clip finished playing.
Arthur raised his head slowly and stared at Victoria with pure shock and fury.
