An hour later, a local family doctor arrived at the mansion to examine Sarah.
He treated the cuts on her arms and wrapped them carefully in white bandages.
Arthur sat in the study across from his head corporate lawyer, signing legal documents.
The lawyer reviewed the trust fund terms regarding Victoria's immediate removal.
Lawyer: Everything is in order, Mr. Vance. Her access to the account is suspended.
Arthur: Good. Make sure her personal settlement covers all of Sarah's medical costs.
Lawyer: That will be done by the end of the business afternoon, sir.
The lawyer packed his leather briefcase and walked out toward the main driveway.
Arthur walked back into the bright lounge where Sarah was resting on the sofa.
She looked up as he entered, trying to stand up out of simple respect.
Arthur: Please stay seated, Sarah. You need to rest your arms today.
Sarah: What will happen to my job now, Mr. Vance?
Arthur: You are no longer going to mop floors in this house, Sarah.
Sarah's heart sank into her stomach, thinking she was being sent away after all.
Sarah: Am I being let go from the estate staff entirely, sir?
Arthur: No. I am offering you a position as our head house manager.
Arthur: You will oversee the staff, manage the schedule, and earn double your salary.
Sarah stared at him in utter disbelief, her blue eyes opening very wide.
Sarah: Head house manager? But I do not have high corporate experience.
Arthur: You have honesty, kindness, and strength. That matters far more to me.
Arthur: We will also pay your mother's full medical bills from our foundation fund.
Tears of deep relief streamed down Sarah's cheeks, but this time she smiled.
Sarah: You have changed my entire life today, Mr. Vance. Thank you so much.
Arthur: You deserved respect from the very first day you walked through our door.
Outside, the bright sun continued to light up the vast marble entrance hall.
The heavy weight of secret cruelty was finally gone from the luxury home.
Sarah looked down at her bandaged arms, knowing her pain was finally ending.
A bright new chapter was beginning for her, filled with hope and real justice.
