The heavy front double doors swung open as David walked into the bright marble hallway.
He looked tired after his early morning meetings, carrying a black leather legal briefcase.
The sound of little Leo's crying reached his ears as soon as he crossed the threshold.
Valerie instantly shifted her emotional state and put on a fake look of deep panic.
She threw herself toward the grand staircase with dramatic tears welling in her blue eyes.
Valerie: Darling! Thank goodness you are finally home! She is trying to hurt me!
David looked up in complete shock as Valerie pointed a trembling finger at Sarah.
David: Valerie? What is happening here? Why is Leo crying so loudly right now?
Valerie: The maid was threatening me! She said she would ruin our upcoming lavish wedding!
Sarah stepped out into the center of the hall, holding little Leo safely in her arms.
She had quickly scooped up the child from the crib to keep him away from Valerie.
Sarah: That is a complete lie, Mr. Vance! She was threatening your infant son!
David rubbed his forehead in total confusion while staring at both emotional women before him.
David: Sarah, you have worked for me for years. Why are you shouting at Valerie?
Valerie: Darling, she is lying! I did not do anything to your precious little boy!
Valerie moved toward David, trying to wrap her slender arms around his broad dark shoulders.
Valerie: Fire her right now, David! She is jealous of my position in your heart!
Sarah did not back down or show any fear before her wealthy, powerful boss today.
She reached into her apron pocket and pulled out her bright black smartphone with confidence.
Sarah: I have proof, Mr. Vance. You need to see this right now for yourself.
Valerie's face turned completely pale as she realized what Sarah was holding up high.
Valerie: Put that away, you filthy girl! She made up a fake video to trick you!
She lunged forward to grab the phone out of Sarah's hand near the main staircase.
Sarah stepped aside quickly, keeping both the baby and the mobile screen completely secure.
Sarah: Look at this video, sir! Look at how she treats your infant when alone!
David held up his hand firmly to stop Valerie from making another desperate step forward.
His face grew cold as he took the phone from Sarah to view the digital evidence.
