"Do not make a call to your lawyers," Sarah commanded boldly.
She grabbed Leo's hand tightly and pulled him toward the doors.
Julian stepped quickly into the center hallway to block her path.
"You cannot just walk out of my mansion with him," Julian said.
"I have legal guardianship papers signed by a state judge."
"You are just a housemaid with no money or big power."
Sarah stood tall and looked directly into her boss's eyes.
"Those legal papers are built entirely on a terrible crime," she said.
"I spent eight long years crying for my missing baby boy."
"You let me clean your floors while my son called you uncle."
Leo looked up at Sarah with tears rolling down his cheeks.
"Are you my real mommy?" the little boy asked softly.
"Yes, my sweet darling, I am your mother," Sarah promised him.
"I never stopped searching for you for even one single day."
Julian's face grew cold and hard as he made a decision.
"If you leave this house, I will call the police," he threatened.
"I will tell them you are kidnapping my young ward today."
"No judge will take the word of a poor maid over mine."
Sarah reached into her dress pocket and pulled out her phone.
She had activated the audio recorder when the bronze horse shattered.
Every single word Julian spoke had been captured on digital audio.
Julian realized his costly mistake as his eyes filled with horror.
"You recorded our whole conversation in this hall," Julian gasped.
"This ends today, Mr. Vance," Sarah declared with strong courage.
