The Confrontation In The Hall

The Maid Claimed The Master Baby Was Her Lost Son

Victoria stood in the doorway with her arms crossed over her high silk dress.

Her eyes narrowed into tight slits when she saw the red folder opened wide.

Victoria: What do you think you are doing inside my husband's private desk?

Sarah closed the folder quickly and held her phone tight against her chest side.

Sarah: I know the truth now, Victoria. You stole my baby from hospital.

Victoria: You are a crazy girl who will leave this house without pay.

Victoria snatched the red folder from the desk and tried to grab Sarah's phone.

Sarah pulled away quickly and ran out into the upper hallway toward the stairs.

Victoria chased after her with loud heel clicks ringing against the hard marble floor.

They reached the top landing near the checkered marble floor of the main hallway.

Victoria grabbed Sarah's uniform sleeve hard to pull her back away from stairs.

Sarah slipped on the smooth polished tile and landed hard on her side knee.

Her face scraped against the rough edge of a heavy carved marble column base.

A red mark formed quickly along her left cheek near her trembling lower lip.

The small baby was sitting safely in his play area near the front doors.

He started crying loudly when he heard the sudden harsh screaming sound echo.

Sarah ignored the sharp pain on her face and crawled toward the crying child.

Sarah: Don't cry, my sweet boy. Mommy is right here beside you now.

Victoria reached down and grabbed the toddler by his small white upper arms.

Victoria: He is a Vance family heir, not your poor forgotten mistake child.

Sarah: Please do not hurt him! Let him go right now, Victoria!

The front doors slammed open hard as Arthur walked back inside the house.

He looked at his crying wife, the bruised maid, and the frightened little child.

His face turned red with immediate confusion and rising dark anger inside him.
