Later that afternoon, Arthur Vance sat inside his luxury corporate office downtown.
His wealthy business partners gathered around the long dark oak board table.
Arthur adjusted his silk tie while smiling confidently at the wealthy investors present.
Arthur: The merger will proceed as scheduled by the end of this afternoon.
Suddenly, the heavy double doors of the private boardroom were thrown open wide.
Elena stepped into the elegant room dressed in clean civilian clothes alongside two detectives.
The investors looked up in shock as the police officers stepped inside the room.
Arthur: What is the meaning of this foolish interruption right now?
Detective: Mr. Vance, we have questions regarding an incident at your residence.
Arthur stood up from his leather chair with an enraged expression on his face.
Arthur: This woman was fired for endangering my daughter earlier today!
Elena: I didn't endanger anyone, but you certainly tried to frame me!
The lead detective placed a laptop on the long wooden board table gently.
He pressed play on the security file provided by the loyal house butler.
The high-definition video footage played clearly for every single investor in the room.
The screen showed the exact moment little Lily lost her footing near the balcony.
It showed Elena springing forward with incredible courage to catch the falling child.
It also showed Arthur standing in the shadow corridor watching the danger unfold.
He had made no movement to help or warn his young daughter at all.
A collective gasp rose from the assembled board members around the long table.
Investor: You stood there and did nothing while she was falling?
Arthur: That video file is a complete fake engineered by my enemies!
Elena: The original recording proves you arranged the entire scene for money!
Arthur turned pale as the detectives stepped closer to his executive chair.
Detective: You are under arrest for child endangerment and fraud attempts.
Arthur backed away against the glass window as handcuffs were produced quickly.
