Julian Vance took two brisk steps into the hallway and evaluated the situation instantly.
He locked eyes with Mark and his calm demeanor shifted into obvious nervousness and alarm.
Mark: What are you doing in my house on a Tuesday afternoon, Julian?
Julian: I came to deliver some updated corporate tax files to Victoria as requested.
Mark: Do tax files usually involve my daughter's private inheritance accounts?
Julian glanced down at the wet paper held tightly in Mark's right hand and frowned.
He lunged forward aggressively, attempting to snatch the paper straight out of Mark's grasp.
Julian: That is confidential financial property that belongs to my legal firm!
Mark moved smoothly to the left, shielding both the document and his daughter from Julian.
Mark: Do not lay a finger on my documents or my family in this home!
Julian stumbled against the decorative wooden console table near the wall as Mark stepped forward.
A glass display case resting on the table tipped over and crashed loudly against the wall.
Glass fragments rained down onto the floor beside the broken ceramic pieces from earlier.
Victoria let out a loud gasp and covered her mouth with both of her hands.
Victoria: Julian, stop it right now, you are making things much worse!
Julian: He has the signed transfer deed, Victoria, he knows everything now!
Mark carried Lily over to the nearby sofa and sat her down safely away from glass.
Mark: Stay right here, Lily, daddy is going to settle this right now.
He walked back to the center of the foyer and stood directly between Julian and Victoria.
Mark pulled his cell phone from his suit jacket pocket and unlocked the screen quickly.
Mark: I am calling my head security officer and my corporate legal team immediately.
Victoria: Mark, please don't call the authorities, we can settle this between us!
Mark: Settle what? You tried to drain my daughter's future with your ex-lover!
Julian smoothed his gray suit jacket and tried to regain his professional composure.
Julian: You have no idea how much money your wife actually owes me, Mark.
