Victoria took a forceful step toward Elena inside the small, enclosed security room.
Victoria: Give me that drive right now, or I will destroy your reputation!
Elena: I am not afraid of your empty threats anymore, Victoria!
Elena dodged past Victoria and ran quickly back out into the grand main foyer.
Victoria chased after her, her high heels clicking loudly against the polished marble floor.
Little Leo was standing near the base of the staircase, looking terrified once again.
Victoria: You are fired as of this second, Elena! Get out of my house!
Elena: You have no authority to fire me after trying to harm Arthur's son!
Just as Victoria reached out to grab Elena's apron, a sudden loud noise echoed.
The massive dark wood front entrance doors burst wide open with tremendous force.
Arthur Whitman stepped into the mansion foyer, his navy blue tailored suit looking sharp.
He was accompanied by two uniformed police officers holding their equipment ready.
Arthur had received an urgent automated safety alert on his smartphone from the security system.
He had immediately canceled his trip to New York and called local law enforcement officers.
Arthur: What is going on in my home right now?!
The sudden sight of the police made Victoria freeze instantly right in her tracks.
Her face turned completely pale, and her arrogance melted away into pure panic.
Leo ran past Victoria as fast as his small legs could carry him forward.
He reached his father and wrapped his small arms tightly around Arthur's legs.
Leo: Daddy! She pushed me near the stairs when you left today!
Arthur gasped in disbelief, dropping his leather briefcase onto the clean floor.
He looked up from his weeping child to glare directly at his panicked wife.
Arthur: Victoria, is this true? Did you lay a hand on my son?
Victoria: No, darling! The boy is lying, he just lost his balance!
Elena: Check the staircase security cameras, Mr. Whitman! She tried to hurt him!
Elena stepped forward courageously, holding out the black flash drive in her hand.
Elena: I saved the backup video file right here before she could erase it.
