The Servant Girl Everyone Ignored

The Hawthorne Estate was hosting one of the city's most exclusive charity galas. Politicians, judges, celebrities, and wealthy business owners filled the luxurious mansion while photographers captured every glamorous moment.

Among the staff quietly serving drinks was sixteen-year-old Emma Carter.

Emma had worked at the estate for only six months after growing up in a local orphanage. She was polite, hardworking, and almost invisible to the wealthy guests who rarely acknowledged the servants around them.

That evening, Emma had been asked to deliver an important envelope to the mansion's private balcony.

As she stepped outside, she unexpectedly overheard a heated argument.

Standing near the balcony railing was Victor Ashford, one of the city's richest businessmen.

His face was filled with anger.

"You weren't supposed to see this," he growled after noticing Emma.

Emma froze.

"I... I wasn't listening."

Victor slowly walked toward her.

"You've heard enough."

Before Emma could react, Victor shoved her with both hands.

She screamed as she lost her balance.

A second later...

She crashed onto the stone courtyard below.

The horrifying impact echoed throughout the estate.

Guests rushed outside in panic.

Emma lay motionless, struggling to breathe.

Her arm trembled as she reached for the small silver locket hanging around her neck.

Before anyone could help her, Eleanor Ashford, the wealthy family matriarch, stepped forward wearing an elegant pearl necklace.

She looked at the injured girl with complete indifference.

"She's just a servant."

"Ignore her."

Some guests looked uncomfortable.

Others quietly obeyed.

Then Victor confidently walked into the courtyard.

He glared at everyone surrounding Emma.

"Do you know who I am?"

His voice thundered across the estate.

"This city belongs to me!"

No one dared answer.

Blood trickled from Emma's forehead.

With the last of her strength, she lifted the silver locket toward the police officers who had just arrived.

Her voice was barely audible.

"Ask him..."

"...whose daughter I am."

The crowd fell completely silent.

Victor's confident expression suddenly disappeared.
