The Grand Windsor Estate was decorated for the wedding of the year. Thousands of white roses lined the marble hallway, crystal chandeliers sparkled overhead, and guests in elegant gowns filled the luxurious venue with excitement. Musicians rehearsed softly as photographers captured every perfect detail before the ceremony.
Bride Olivia Bennett stood in the hallway wearing a breathtaking lace gown. Around her neck hung an antique gold locket that had belonged to her late mother. It was the only keepsake she had left after losing both of her parents in a tragic car accident when she was just twelve years old.
Her fiancé, Ethan Brooks, stood nearby greeting family members while wedding coordinators rushed through final preparations.
Suddenly, a cry echoed through the hallway.
A small girl in a simple cream-colored dress stood trembling near Olivia.
The wedding planner pointed toward the frightened child.
"She touched your necklace!"
Several guests immediately assumed the worst.
Olivia instinctively grabbed the chain around her neck.
The locket was missing.
The little girl clutched something tightly in her tiny hands.
Olivia stepped forward, hurt and confused.
"What are you doing?"
"She stole it..."
The little girl shook her head violently.
"I didn't steal it..."
Tears streamed down her face as she carefully held out the gold locket.
"It fell."
The hallway fell silent.
Olivia slowly accepted the necklace.
Still suspicious, she pressed the tiny clasp.
The antique locket clicked open.
Inside rested a faded photograph she hadn't looked at in years.
The moment her eyes landed on the picture, the color drained from her face.
Her breathing became uneven.
She looked back at the little girl with trembling lips.
"Where did you see her?"
