The Waitress Everyone Judged

The Grand Royal Ballroom was overflowing with wealthy guests celebrating the anniversary of businessman Richard Harrison and his wife, Victoria.

Crystal chandeliers sparkled above elegant dining tables while an orchestra played softly in the background.

Working quietly among the servers was twenty-three-year-old Emily Carter.

She had accepted the catering job only a week earlier.

No one knew she had another reason for being there.

For months, Emily had searched for clues about the father she had never met.

Her late mother had left behind only one photograph and one name.

Richard Harrison.

As Emily served drinks near the head table, Richard briefly looked at her.

She froze.

His face looked exactly like the man in her mother's old photograph.

Victoria noticed the exchange.

Her jealousy exploded.

She marched across the ballroom, grabbed Emily by the arm, and slapped her hard across the face.

The room instantly fell silent.

"Stay away from my husband!"

Emily stumbled backward, fighting tears.

Guests watched in complete shock.

Victoria pointed directly at her.

"Tell everyone why you keep following him!"

Before Emily could answer, Victoria shoved her toward Richard's table.

Emily could barely stand.

Her hands trembled.

"I..."

"I have to show you something."

Slowly, she reached into her apron pocket and removed a worn black-and-white photograph.

It showed a newborn baby wrapped in an old patterned blanket.

Richard frowned.

"What is this?"

He had never seen the picture before.

But someone else had.

An elderly woman sitting near the stage suddenly stood up.

Her eyes filled with tears.

"That blanket..."

"I wrapped his daughter in it."

Every guest turned toward her.

Emily felt her heart pounding.

Was this finally the answer she had spent her entire life searching for?
