The grand ballroom of the Wellington Mansion was decorated with pink balloons, fresh flowers, and sparkling crystal chandeliers.
It was supposed to be the happiest day of five-year-old Lily's life.
A beautiful pink birthday cake sat proudly on the table while guests gathered to celebrate.
Standing beside Lily was her mother, Emma, a hardworking waitress who had spent weeks saving money to give her daughter a birthday she would never forget.
Lily smiled brightly as everyone began singing.
Then, without warning, the celebration turned into a nightmare.
A wealthy woman dressed in an elegant black designer gown marched toward the birthday table.
Looking at the little girl with contempt, she sneered,
"Servants don't deserve birthdays!"
Before anyone could react, she grabbed Lily by the head and violently shoved her face into the birthday cake.
Frosting exploded across the table.
The little girl cried and struggled as the woman laughed.
The music stopped.
Guests gasped in horror.
Some stood frozen.
Others looked away in disbelief.
Emma rushed forward, pulling her terrified daughter out of the ruined cake.
She held Lily tightly as the child trembled with fear.
Through tears, Lily whispered,
"Mommy... why did she do that to me?"
Emma couldn't find the words.
She simply hugged her daughter even tighter.
The wealthy woman pointed at them and laughed.
"Because you'll always be nothing but servants!"
The cruel words echoed through the silent ballroom.
