The morning light streamed through the stained-glass windows of the Berkshire mansion, casting long shadows across the polished white marble foyer where an American flag hung silently against the tall walls.
Inside the master bathroom, Clara stood frozen in the doorway, her white satin robe clinging to her shaking frame. Her hand flew to her mouth in sheer horror and disbelief as she watched her mother-in-law, Eleanor.
Eleanor stood over the shimmering golden toilet in her tailored silk pajamas, holding Clara's three-month-old baby, Toby, tightly in her arms.
Clara: Eleanor, stop! What are you doing with my baby?!
Eleanor: I am removing a stain from this family before it's too late!
Clara: Please! He's just an innocent child!
Eleanor: He is an illegitimate intruder who will never touch a single cent of the Berkshire estate!
Clara fell to her knees on the cold marble floor, screaming hysterically as Eleanor leaned over the porcelain bowl.
Clara: THAT'S WHERE BASTARDS LIKE YOU BELONG!
Without a second of hesitation, Eleanor dunked the wrapped baby directly into the water inside the golden toilet.
A muffled, terrified cry erupted from the wet blanket as the water splashed over the golden rim.
Clara: GET AWAY FROM MY CHILD!
Clara scrambled forward on her hands and knees, her nails digging into the stone floor as she reached for her son.
She lunged at Eleanor, aggressively pulling the crying, wet baby out of the water and pressing him against her chest.
Eleanor: Get your filthy hands off me, Clara!
Clara: You monster! You tried to drown my baby!
Eleanor backed out into the grand foyer, standing tall near the hanging American flag while glaring at Clara with icy contempt.
Eleanor: SHE IS NOT MY GRANDCHILD!
Clara stood up, her body shaking with fury as she held her wet baby in one arm and pulled a sealed manila envelope from her robe pocket with her other hand.
Clara: You've lied about this family for thirty years, Eleanor, but today it ends!
Clara rushed forward and fiercely shoved the older woman backwards with all her strength.
Eleanor lost her footing on the slick floor and fell hard onto the pristine white marble with a heavy thud, gasping for air as a folded document fluttered out of Clara's envelope and landed right in front of her face.
Eleanor: How dare you lay a hand on me in my own house!
Clara: THEN LOOK AT WHOSE NAME IS SIGNED ON THIS PAPER!
Eleanor sat on the marble floor, her hands trembling as her eyes locked onto the official document titled "THE BERKSHIRE TRUST" bearing a formal signature at the bottom.
Her face froze in sheer horror and disbelief as she read the legal text, her jaw dropping and her eyes widening in total panic as the true owner of the entire Berkshire empire was finally revealed.
