The Woman Finally Told The Truth

The Funeral Stopped When Someone Heard A Voice From Inside The Coffin

Hours later, the woman woke up in a hospital room.

Maria sat beside her.

Maria: “You're safe now.”

The woman slowly opened her eyes.

Woman: “I thought I was going to die in there.”

Maria: “What happened?”

She took a deep breath.

Woman: “Daniel gave me something before I went to sleep.”

She explained that she had felt dizzy and collapsed at home.

When she woke up, she could not move.

She heard Daniel talking to someone.

Then she heard him say that she was dead.

Woman: “I tried to scream, but I couldn't.”

She remembered being placed inside the coffin while still unable to move.

Maria: “How did you survive?”

Woman: “I woke up enough to move my fingers.”

She began tapping against the inside of the coffin.

She had no idea if anyone would hear her.

Then Maria arrived.

Woman: “You were the only person who believed something was wrong.”

Maria wiped away her tears.

Maria: “You saved me too.”

Woman: “How?”

Maria: “Daniel blamed me for attacking you. If you hadn't spoken, I would have gone to prison for something I didn't do.”

The woman reached for Maria's hand.

Woman: “I'm sorry.”

Maria: “You don't have to apologize.”

Outside the room, the police were waiting.

Daniel was arrested and investigators began examining the medical records, the altered documents, and the financial accounts.

The woman's new will was officially placed into evidence.

She survived.

And Maria was cleared of the accusations against her.

Several weeks later, the woman returned to the same church.

This time, there was no coffin.

There were flowers, but they were placed beside a small table celebrating her recovery.

Maria stood beside her.

Woman: “If Maria hadn't walked into that church, I wouldn't be standing here.”

Maria smiled through her tears.

Maria: “I just listened.”

The woman looked toward the people gathered around them.

Woman: “Sometimes the truth is very quiet.”

She paused.

Woman: “But someone has to stop and listen.”
