Mark turned toward his mother with disbelief in his quiet eyes.
Mark: How could you let her steal from my family's future like this?
Eleanor: Evelyn was facing severe debt from her failed boutique business.
Evelyn: You have plenty of money from your corporate job, Mark!
Sarah: That does not give you the right to commit fraud against us!
Sarah walked over to the stack of legal papers on the counter.
She flipped through the backend pages of the estate agreement document.
Near the bottom of the stack, she spotted an unread amendment clause.
Sarah: Mark, look at page twelve of this trust document.
Mark stepped over and read the fine print printed at the bottom.
Mark: This amendment attempts to remove Leo from the inheritance trust!
Evelyn: It was signed by Mom three weeks ago!
Eleanor: I only signed what Evelyn put in front of me, Mark!
Sarah: You tried to cut our son out of his grandfather's legacy.
The lawyer stepped forward quickly to clarify the legal situation now.
Lawyer: An amendment signed under false pretenses is entirely invalid in court.
Mark: I am revoking Evelyn's access to all estate accounts effective today.
Evelyn gasped loudly as her face turned completely red with anger.
Evelyn: You cannot do this to your own sister, Mark!
Mark: You placed my son at risk and stole from our family home.
Mark: Pack your things and leave this house before I call the sheriff.
Eleanor grabbed her purse and walked out without saying another word.
Evelyn followed her mother out the door, furious and defeated at last.
