The Final Stand At The Mansion

The Cruel Stepmother Dropped Her Secret Before Leaving Forever

At three o'clock that afternoon, Victoria walked back through the front doors of the grand mansion with pride.

She was wearing an expensive silk coat and holding a leather briefcase, accompanied by a tall, sleek lawyer.

Mark stood in the center of the white marble foyer, accompanied by David and two uniform police officers.

Victoria stopped in her tracks, her confident smile instantly faltering when she saw the blue uniforms standing there.

Victoria: What is the meaning of bringing police officers inside our personal living room, Mark?

Mark: You brought a lawyer to take my money, but I brought officers to take your freedom.

Victoria's lawyer took a small step back, looking visibly uncomfortable as David handed him a thick envelope.

David: You might want to review these financial fraud files before you represent this woman, counsel.

Victoria's lawyer opened the envelope, scanning the police records and bank transfer attempts with sharp eyes.

Victoria's Lawyer: You never mentioned a previous felony fraud charge in another state, Victoria!

Victoria: Those charges were dismissed, this is just a desperate bluff to scare us away!

Mark: We have security footage of you opening my safe and taking Lily's trust folder yesterday.

Mark pointed up toward the tiny high-definition camera hidden inside the wooden chandelier high above the foyer.

Victoria looked up at the camera, her face turning pale as she realized her plan had completely failed.

Victoria: You spent months spying on me in my own home, Mark?

Mark: I spent months protecting my innocent child from a cold, heartless criminal who entered our lives.

The senior police officer stepped forward, pulling a pair of shiny steel handcuffs from his leather belt.

Police Officer: Victoria Vance, you are under arrest for grand theft and illegal document destruction attempts.

Victoria: Get your hands off me right now, I did not do anything wrong!

The officer firmly turned her around and snapped the cold metal cuffs securely around her small wrists.

Victoria glared at Mark with intense hatred as she was led toward the open front entrance doors.

Victoria: You will regret making an enemy out of me, Mark, mark my words!

Mark: The only regret I have is ever letting you near my daughter for a single day.

The police officers escorted Victoria out into the bright afternoon sun, loading her into the back squad car.
