Evelyn: That notary public is a liar! He was paid off by Julian to ruin my reputation!
Detective Vance: He handed over the original bank transfer receipts showing you paid him forty thousand dollars to hide Sarah Sterling's birth registry two years ago, ma'am.
Julian: My mother didn't die of a sudden illness, did she, Evelyn?
Evelyn: Your mother had a weak heart condition! Everyone in high society knew that!
Julian: My mother gave birth to Lily in secret at the clinic because she knew you were monitoring her medical reports!
Lily pointed her small, bruised finger at Evelyn's gold dress, her voice trembling softly as she spoke into the quiet room.
Lily: The lady gave my mommy the dark bottle milk... Mommy went to sleep and didn't wake up...
A collective gasp rippled through the gathered crowd. Board members stepped back away from Evelyn, looking at her with absolute horror and disgust.
Board Member Miller: My God... she poisoned Sarah Sterling for the trust fund!
Board Member Davis: Disgraceful! Absolute criminal behavior!
Evelyn: Be quiet, all of you! You don't know what you're talking about!
Detective Vance: Officers, place Mrs. Sterling under arrest immediately.
The two uniformed officers stepped forward, grabbing Evelyn's arms and forcing them behind her gold sequin gown. The cold, sharp click of steel handcuffs echoed clearly off the white marble walls.
Evelyn: Get your hands off me! Do you know how much this gown costs?! Julian! Tell them to stop!
Julian: You locked my four-year-old sister in a room behind the garage, Evelyn. You can spend the next thirty years in a state cell.
Evelyn: You ungrateful fool! I built this company's image for two years!
Julian: You built an empire on lies, poison, and a child's suffering. Today, the bill came due.
The officers turned Evelyn around, guiding her across the polished marble floor toward the open front entrance. High-society reporters who had been invited to cover the charity gala swarmed the driveway outside, camera flashes exploding continuously through the tall glass windows.
Reporter A: Mrs. Sterling! Did you hide Sarah Sterling's daughter in the servant quarters?
Reporter B: Is it true you forged probate papers to steal sixty million dollars?
Evelyn: Turn those cameras off! Get them out of my face!
Evelyn thrashed against the officers' grip, trying desperately to cover her face with her handcuffed hands, but the photographers captured every second of her ruined makeup, rumpled gold dress, and complete humiliation.
Officer Davis pushed her head down gently, guiding her into the back seat of the lead police cruiser. The heavy metal door slammed shut with a sharp thud, cutting off her hysterical screaming once and for all.
Inside the quiet ballroom, Julian knelt down on the white floor, setting Lily gently on her feet while holding her small hands.
Julian: Lily, look at me. The mean lady is gone. Nobody will ever hide you or hurt you again.
Lily: Are... are you really my brother Julian?
Julian: Yes, sweetie. I'm your big brother. And this house belongs to you now.
